Weavings


Weavings (née Counter) is an outgrowth of the Community Reading Group, which was founded by artists, activists, and scholars who were curious about the assumptions underlying the appeals to community so prevalent in organizing spaces. CRG has, throughout its study, contemplated the centrality of racialization and the violent legacy of the transatlantic slave trade to collective fantasies of liberation and common life. Its work has been to dwell in the complexity that adheres to the demand for praxis and the limits of theory.
